Whether you’re a UK student or an international student, AS helps you achieve your academic goals in a dynamic, friendly and supportive environment.

With class sizes that vary between five and 15 students, passionate teachers can give you the time, attention and support you deserve, while they help you to fulfil your potential while making plenty of friends along the way. 

At Academic Summer, no two hours will be the same; both daytime and residential courses are designed to make the students feel inspired and challenged.

Accommodation

DLD College in London: modern classrooms, dining room, coffee shop and boarding accommodation…all in one building. The bedrooms are single ensuite rooms. There are also some twin bedrooms.

Sidcot School in Bristol: The accommodation is spacious and homely! You will share a twin/ triple room with other students. There is a desk for study and a wardrobe and drawers for your belongings. Each room has its own en-suite washroom facilities. You will be in a house with all of your new friends and there is always a friendly member of staff close by.
Sidcot School’s on-campus boarding accommodation has separate boys’ and girls’ houses. If you over the age of 16 you can request a single room. We like students to be in mixed nationality bedrooms. There are some single and double rooms with private showers and toilets, but most bedrooms are with shared toilets and showers. Showers and toilets are individual cubicles with doors that can be locked to give you privacy.

You can use the cozy common rooms with a small kitchen to meet with your friends or have a snack.

Academic Summer gives you an unforgettable summer bursting with fun, adventure and equipping you with skills that will stick with you for life. This is why the leisure programmeis filled with unique and interesting trips, the CPD accredited Be a leader programme and fun-filled, challenging and thought-provoking elective activities (that you chose!).  We are going to show England as you’ve never seen it before, as well as taking you the top tourist must-sees.

As part of your Academic Summer experience in Bristol you will participate on the world-class Be a Leader 20-hour Programme. Whether you are a natural born leader or someone that prefers to support the team in the background you will discover and develop your communication, negotiation, problem solving and presentation skills. The cherry on the cake – you will receive an accredited CPD qualification to show the world your achievements.

Be a Leader helps you to:

  •  gain a CPD accredited qualification,
  •  develop your leadership skills,
  •  challenge you to try something new & put down your mobile device,
  •  grow in confidence,
  • improve your communication skills,
  •  have fun & have new experiences,
  • make friends from over the world & get to know your camp counsellors.

In Bristol the elective afternoons allow you to choose your favorite activities, so you are only ever doing something that excites you.  Options include athletics, games, food technology, arts and crafts, drama, outdoor education, English workshop, horse-riding or golf 

Excursions

Staying in London, you will be amazed by the London experience, exploring places such as Houses of Parliament, London Eye, Downing Street, Bank of England, the Shard, Trafalger Square, The Mall, National Gallery, Piccadilly Circus, House Guards Parade, Shakespeare’s Globe, Tower of London and many more.  

Choosing Bristol, we will have full day trips every weekend plus on two afternoons per week. You will explore the fascinating city of Bristol, Clifton Suspension Bridge, M Shed Bristol, Gothic Wells Cathedral (filmset for the Huntsman) and Bristol Museum and Art Gallery. You will also take a trip to Cheddar Gorge where the famous cheese is produced. 

Ther weekend excursions will take you to London every other week and when you are not in London you will go to Oxford, Windsor, or Jane Austin’s Bath.  Sundays are your chance to unwind, you will visit the UK’s less well-known places of outstanding natural beauty such as teambuilding in Mendip Hills or explore Somerset-a County full of historical National Trust manor houses with sprawling manicured gardens and much more.
