Students joining the Lower School in Years 7, 8 or 9 study a broad curriculum including English, mathematics, sciences, modern foreign languages (including Mandarin Chinese), geography, history, classical civilisation and religious studies as well as art, design & technology, computing, PE, Games, drama and music.

In Year 9, GCSE subjects are selected for study in Years 10 and 11. Students will typically study 9 or 10 subjects at GCSE level. Alongside a core curriculum of English, mathematics, and science, students select from a broad range of subjects.

After completing their GCSEs, students continue to study in our Sixth Form where they further narrow down their subject choices on the A-Level programme.

Students and parents are also able to access a multitude of learning and co-curricular resources via Firefly, a collaborative online platform which can be accessed at home as well as on-site.

SIXTH FORM

Kensington Park School Sixth Form provision is amongst the best in Central London. KPS prepares the students for A-Level exam success and university entry in a specialist A-Level teaching environment.

Kensington Park School benefits from having its own dedicated Sixth Form where students are prepared for A Level exam success and university entry in a specialist teaching environment. Situated to the south of Kensington Gardens, a short walk away from the Lower School, KPS Sixth Form students enjoy all the advantages of being part of the wider school community.  Sixth Form students receive the same level of personal and pastoral support as the younger pupils and can choose to take part in the many co-curricular activities on offer at the Lower School or get involved with mentoring opportunities. They benefit, however, from lessons taking place on a separate site, with specialist A-Level teachers and their own personalised timetables.

KPS approach combines the best elements of established Sixth Form schooling with the characteristics of a college environment to help bridge the gap between school and university. Small class sizes help focus students’ learning in lessons that are delivered by some of the finest teachers in London, many of whom have gained considerable experience from time spent in some of the country’s most prestigious schools. Our unique links with Imperial College give our pupils access to the university’s restaurants and cafes, as well as lecture series and other recreational opportunities.

Sixth Form students are expected to dress in smart, business attire. Whilst they do not wear an official KPS uniform, they do represent the senior arm of the school, and so are expected to dress maturely. This prepares students for life after KPS, be that at university or in the workplace.
