For 25 years “LINES” has been providing high quality academic language courses where students “Learn and Smile” in the same language! Downe House is LINES longest running centre in the UK. Established in 1995, LINES Downe House is based in the County of Berkshire, home to the family of the current Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. The school is located just outside the market town of Newbury and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The school has private access and is set in 210 acres of forest.
The English courses in Downe House (Berkshire) are designed to engage and inspire students to improve their language skills whilst making friends and having fun at the same time.
The college offers an exciting range of excursions to destinations across the UK and a program of sports and activities that is second to none. It is also offering Pro-Activities professional coaching in Football, Tennis, Golf, and Music, as well as experiences such as Musicals in London’s Theatreland, Harry Potter Studio Tours and Thorpe Park.

The students improve their general English skills (Speaking, Listening, Grammar, New Vocabulary) through language lessons and learn new life skills based on the age and the level of each student in classes from max.10 students same age and level.

LINES is delighted to offer and additional program of high-quality activity coaching with a team of dedicated, highly trained and qualified professionals.
BE CREATIVE Activities that encourage creative thought e.g. arts and crafts,T-shirt tie-dye, laser tag
GET ACTIVE Indoor and outdoor sport activities with staff or external providers (Basketball, Swimming, Street dance, African drumming, Football etc).
TEAM SPIRIT Inter House quiz, Bingo, Team Challenges, Team building activities, … Anything that promotes friendly competition between students with prizes!
Excursions
At LINES Downe House, students can enjoy two full-day excursions to a range of destinations, selected for their interest and enjoyment. All excursions are fully supervised by trained staff to make sure that the students get the very best our of each excursion. At LINES, excursions form an integral part of the learning programme, giving students the opportunity to practice and use their language skills in real-life settings whilst gaining an appreciation and understanding of the culture and history of the UK. In addition to the academic and Saturday excursions, LINES also offers optional Sunday excursions from Downe House.

Downe House is based in the County of Berkshire, approximately 45 minutes from Heathrow Airport, 60 minutes from London and 45 minutes from Oxford.
